The Columbia River Gorge Commission responsibility in the grant and loan program is to certify that all activities undertaken with a grant or loan are consistent with the purposes of the Act, the Gorge Management Plan, and county Scenic Area land use ordinances.   Once the Oregon Investment Board (OIB) or Washington Investment Board (WIB) approve a grant or loan request, the Gorge Commission will complete their certification review.  The OIB and WIB will assist applicants with the certification process.

The Commission also makes requests to Congress for continued funding of the economic development programs.  To date, approximately $8.1 million has been appropriated for these programs.
